HAPPY ANNIVERSARY
TO

All Anniversaries in the month of March

The reports for the National Prayer Day services have been awesome. The
Directresses reported that the outpour of God’s Spirit was mighty. Souls
were blessed and encouraged. The theme for the Tri-Districts Pennsylvania,
Maryland/Delaware and Washington/Virginia was: Prayer: Our Weapon of
Warfare. The spiritual tide was high and believe me, we rode with the wave
of the Spirit. Our gracious hostess was Sis. Janice Jones, co sponsor,
Pastor Ida B. Thompson and our speaker, Rev. Janice Dunbar. Let us continue
to pray, for pray is our weapon of warfare.

The Revival held at Tried Stone F.B.H. Church, Washington, D. C., by the YPI
Department, was truly an old fashioned, Holy Ghost packed, restorative and
revival week. Pastor Dr. Richard Coleman of Greater Saint Paul, Rochelle,
New Jersey was the Revivalist. Dr. Coleman preached each night under the
power of the Holy Ghost. His last night of the revival message was: “It’s
Time For a Lazarus Breakthrough.” Many souls were blessed, saved and
sanctified as well as restored.

It’s time to get on the Net:
This is an appeal to you to send your district’s information to Sis. Vernell
Turner regarding your district’s churches, pastors and officers.
Have you seen the www.fbhchurch.org website? Sis. Vernell Turner has done a
mammoth job. However, there are still too many “under construction” sites
on our website. It only takes a minute to submit the information to Sis.
Vernell Turner by email, vturner@appserv.rcc.org.
Many have told me this is how they find our churches when visiting other
cities.
Are you on the net so that they can find where you ARE?

SCRIPTURE
“But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed
thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by
thy name; thou art mine. When thou passest through the waters, I will be
with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou
walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame
kindle upon thee.
Isaiah 43:1-2

WORDS OF WISDOM

A Christian is supposed to be a conduit of Grace to other people. “Out of
his innermost being shall flow rivers of living water…”.

HEALTH ADVICE

Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo

Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV) causes dizziness due to debris
which has collected within a part of the inner ear. You can think of this
debris as "ear rocks." Chemically, ear rocks are small crystals of calcium
carbonate. They are derived from structures in the ear called "otoliths"
that have been damaged by head injury, infection, or other disorder of the
inner ear, or degenerated because of advanced age.
The symptoms of BPPV include dizziness or vertigo, lightheadedness,
imbalance, and nausea. Activities which bring on symptoms will vary in each
person, but symptoms are almost always precipitated by a position change of
the head or body. Getting out of bed or rolling over in bed are common
"problem" motions. Some people will feel dizzy and unsteady when they tip
their heads back to look up, and for this reason sometimes BPPV is called
"top shelf" vertigo. Women with BPPV may find that use of the hair dryers in
beauty salons brings on symptoms.
An intermittent pattern is the usual situation. BPPV may be present for a
few weeks, then stop, then come back again.
WHAT CAUSES BPPV?
No cause is ever found in about half of the people with BPPV. In the other
half, several kinds of events or conditions are thought to cause the
episodes. Among the known causes, the most common among people younger than
50 is head injury. Among older people, it is it is degeneration of the
vestibular system of the inner ear.
HOW IS THE DIAGNOSIS OF BPPV MADE?
Your physician can make the diagnosis based on your history, findings on
physical examination, and the results of vestibular and auditory tests.
Blood pressure will be checked lying flat and standing. Other diagnostic
studies may be required. An ENG may be needed to look for the characteristic
nystagmus (jumping of the eyes). An MRI scan will be performed if there is
any possibility of a stroke or brain tumor. A rotatory chair test may be
used for difficult diagnostic problems. It is possible to have BPPV in both
ears (bilateral), which may make diagnosis and treatment more challenging.
HOW IS BPPV TREATED?
BPPV has often been described as "self-limiting" because symptoms often
subside or disappear within six months of onset. Symptoms tend to wax and
wane. Motion sickness medications are sometimes helpful in controlling the
nausea associated with BPPV but are otherwise rarely effective. However,
various kinds of physical maneuvers and exercises have proved effective.
Three varieties of conservative treatment involve exercises, and another
involves surgery.
OFFICE TREATMENT OF BPPV
(The Epley and Semont Maneuvers)
There are two treatments of BPPV that are usually performed in the doctor's
office. Both are very effective, with roughly an 80% cure rate, according to
a study by Herdman and others (1993).
The maneuvers are named after their inventors. They are both intended to
move debris or "ear rocks" out of the sensitive back part of the ear
(posterior canal) to a less sensitive location. Both maneuvers take about 15
minutes to accomplish. The Semont maneuver (also called the "liberatory"
maneuver) involves a procedure whereby the patient is rapidly moved from
lying on one side to the other. The Epley maneuver (also called the particle
repositioning, canalith
repositioning procedure, and modified liberatory maneuver) involves
sequential movement of the head into four positions. The recurrence rate for
BPPV after these maneuvers is about 5 percent, and in some instances a
second treatment may be necessary.
After either of these maneuvers, you should be prepared to follow the
instructions below, which are aimed at reducing the chance that debris might
fall back into the sensitive back part of the ear.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR PATIENTS AFTER OFFICE TREATMENTS
(Epley or Semont Maneuvers)
Wait for 10 minutes after the maneuver is performed before going home. This
is to avoid "quick spins," or brief bursts of vertigo as debris re-positions
itself immediately after the maneuver. Don't drive home yourself; have
someone else drive you.
Sleep semi-recumbent for the next two days. This means sleep with your head
halfway between being flat and upright (a 45 degree angle). This is most
easily done by using a recliner chair or by using pillows arranged on a
couch. During the day, try to keep your head vertical. You must not go to
the hairdresser or dentist. No exercise which requires head movement. When
men shave under their chins, they should bend their bodies forward in order
to keep their head vertical. If eyedrops are required, try to put them in
without tilting the head back. Shampoo only under the shower.
For at least 1 week, avoid provoking head positions that might bring this on
again.
Use two pillows when you sleep; Avoid sleeping on the "bad" side; Don't
turn your head far up or far down; Be careful to avoid head-extended
position, in which you are lying on your back, especially with your head
turned towards the bad side;
This means be cautious at the beauty parlor, dentist's office, and if having
minor surgery done. Ask them to keep you as upright as possible. If
appropriate, exercises for low-back pain should be stopped for a week. No
"sit-ups" for at least one week. No "crawl" swimming. (Breast stroke
is OK.)
Avoid far head-forward positions such as might occur in certain exercises
(i.e. touching the toes).
At one week after treatment, put yourself in the position that usually makes
you dizzy. Position yourself cautiously and under conditions in which you
can't fall or hurt yourself. Let your doctor know how you did.
WHAT IF THE MANEUVERS DON'T WORK?
These maneuvers don't always work (only 80% of the time), and if they don't,
then your doctor may wish you to proceed with the Brandt-Daroff exercises.
They are more arduous but can be done at home, with your doctor's guidance.
SURGICAL TREATMENT OF BPPV
(Posterior Canal Plugging)
If exercises are ineffective in controlling symptoms and they have persisted
for a year or longer, a surgical procedure called "canal plugging" may be
recommended. Canal plugging completely stops the posterior canal's function
without affecting the functions of the other canals or parts of the ear.
This procedure poses a small risk to hearing.
HOW MIGHT BPPV AFFECT MY LIFE?
Certain modifications in your daily activities may be necessary to cope with
your dizziness. Use two or more pillows at night. Avoid sleeping on the
"bad" side. In the morning, get up slowly and sit on the edge of the bed for
a minute.
Avoid bending down to pick up things, and extending the head, such as to get
something out of a cabinet. Be careful when at the dentist's office, beauty
salon, or in sports activities or positions where your head is flat or
extended.

TEMPER
There once was a little boy who had a bad temper. His father gave him a bag
of nails and told him that every time he lost his temper, he must hammer a
nail into the back of the fence.
The first day the boy had driven 37 nails into the fence. Over the next few
weeks, as he learned to control his anger, the number of nails hammered
daily gradually dwindled down.
He discovered it was easier to hold his temper than to drive those nails
into the fence....
Finally the day came when the boy didn't lose his temper at all. He told
his father about it and the father suggested that the boy now pull out one
nail for each day that he was able to hold his temper.
The days passed and the young boy was finally able to tell his father that
all the nails were gone. The father took his son by the hand and led him to
the fence. He said, "You have done well, my son, but look at the holes in
the fence. The fence will never be the same. When you say things in anger,
they leave a scar just like this one. You can put a knife in a man and draw
it out. It won't matter how many times you say I'm sorry, the wound is
still there."
A verbal wound is as bad as a physical one. Friends are a very rare jewel
indeed. They make you smile and encourage you to succeed. They lend an ear,
they share words of praise and they always want to open their hearts to us."

The History of Black History
Americans have recognized black history annually since 1926, first as "Negro
History Week" and later as "Black History Month." What you might not know is
that black history had barely begun to be studied—or even documented—when
the tradition originated. Although blacks have been in America at least as
far back as colonial times, it was not until the 20th century that they
gained a respectable presence in the history books.
We owe the celebration of Black History Month, and more importantly, the
study of black history, to Dr. Carter G. Woodson. Born to parents who were
former slaves, he spent his childhood working in the Kentucky coal mines and
enrolled in high school at age twenty. He graduated within two years and
later went on to earn a Ph.D. from Harvard. The scholar was disturbed to
find in his studies that history books largely ignored the black American
population — and when blacks did figure into the picture, it was generally
in ways that reflected the inferior social position they were assigned at
the time.
Woodson, always one to act on his ambitions, decided to take on the
challenge of writing black Americans into the nation's history. He
established the Association for the Study of Negro Life and History (now
called the Association for the Study of Afro-American Life and History) in
1915, and a year later founded the widely respected Journal of Negro
History.
In 1926, he launched Negro History Week as an initiative to bring national
attention to the contributions of black people throughout American history.

Why Can't YOU Let Go?
Jenny was a bright-eyed, pretty five-year-old girl. One day when she and
her mother were checking out at the grocery store, Jenny saw a plastic pearl
necklace priced at $2.50. How she wanted that necklace, and when she asked
her mother if she would buy it for her, her mother said, "Well, it is a
pretty necklace, but it costs an awful lot of money. I'll tell you what.
I'll buy you the necklace, and when we get home we can make up a list of
chores that you can do to pay for the necklace. And don't forget that for
your birthday Grandma just might give you a whole dollar bill, too. Okay?"
Jenny agreed, and her mother bought the pearl necklace for her. Jenny
worked on her chores very hard every day, and sure enough her grandma gave
her a brand new dollar bill for her birthday. Soon Jenny had paid off the
pearls.
How Jenny loved those pearls. She wore them everywhere-to kindergarten, bed
and when she went out with her mother to run errands. The only time she
didn't wear them was in the shower-her mother had told her that they would
turn her neck green!
Now Jenny had a very loving daddy. When Jenny went to bed, he would get up
from his favorite chair every night and read Jenny her favorite story.
One night when he finished the story, he said, "Jenny, do you love me?" "Oh
yes, Daddy, you know I love you," the little girl said. "Well, then, give me
your pearls." "Oh! Daddy, not my pearls!" Jenny said. "But you can have
Rosie, my favorite doll. Remember her? You gave her to me last year for my
birthday. And you can have her tea party outfit, too. Okay?" "Oh no,
darling, that's okay." Her father brushed her cheek with a kiss. "Good
night, little one."
A week later, her father once again asked Jenny after her story, "Do you
love me?" "Oh yes, Daddy, you know I love you." "Well, then, give me your
pearls." "Oh, Daddy, not my pearls! But you can have Ribbons, my toy horse.
Do you remember her? She's my favorite. Her hair is so soft, and you can
play with it and braid it and everything. You can have Ribbons if you want
her, Daddy," the little girl said to her father. "No, that's okay," her
father said and brushed her cheek again with a kiss. "God bless you, little
one. Sweet dreams."
Several days later, when Jenny's father came in to read her a story, Jenny
was sitting on her bed and her lip was trembling. "Here, Daddy," she said,
and held out her hand. She opened it and her beloved pearl necklace was
inside. She let it slip into her father's hand.
With one hand her father held the plastic pearls and with the other he
pulled out of his pocket a blue velvet box. Inside of the box were real,
genuine, beautiful pearls.
He had them all along. He was waiting for Jenny to give up the cheap stuff
so he could give her the real thing.
So it is with our Heavenly Father. He is waiting for us to give up the
cheap things in our lives so that he can give us beautiful treasure.
Isn't God good?
Are you holding onto things which God wants you to let go off. Are you
holding on to harmful or unnecessary partners, relationships, habits and
activities which you have come so attached to that it seems impossible to
let go. Sometimes it is so hard to see what is in the other hand but do
believe this one thing..................
God will never take away something without giving you something better in
its place.

A PRAYER FOR A LOVED ONE
Lord, be his shepherd, Keep him with the flock,
Watch him and tend him, Be his resolute rock.
Don't let him falter, Don't let him fall,
Wait with him, Father, Be there for his call.
Hold his hand firmly, The path grows so steep,
Wipe his tears gently, Should he start to weep.
Teach him to follow, In Your humble way,
Help him to walk, In Your shadow each day.
Strengthen his body, Weaken his will,
Should he deny You, Stay with him still.
Give him Your shoulder, On which he may rest,
Embrace him warmly, Next to Your breast.
Please place Your hand, Upon his dear head,
And give him Your blessing, As his spirit is fed.
Quiet his mind, Comfort his soul,
Put peace in his heart, Make his life whole.
Give him a vision, Of Your tender smile,
Let him feel loved, All of the while

**********************************************************************
A young man who had been raised as an atheist was training to be an Olympic
diver. The only religious influence in his life came from his outspoken
Christian friend. The young diver never really paid much attention to his
friend's sermons, but he heard them often. One night the diver went to the
indoor pool at the college he attended. The lights were all off, but as the
pool had big skylights and the moon was bright, there was plenty of light to
practice by. The young man climbed up to the highest diving board and as he
turned his back to the pool on the edge of the board and extended his arms
out, he saw his shadow on the wall. The shadow of his body, was in the
shape of a cross. Instead of diving, he knelt down and finally asked God to
come into his life. As the young man stood, a maintenance man walked in and
turned the lights on. The pool had been drained for repairs.

Buying a New Car

RESEARCH
What kind of car are you looking for? (4-door sedan, economy, luxury,
sporty, sport utility...).
How much do you want to spend?
What is the insurance costs for each of the cars you are considering?
What are the financing alternatives?

THE TEST DRIVE
Call ahead to a local dealership to make an appointment to test drive the
exact car in which you are interested. Driving a car with an enhanced trim
level might be deceiving because different seats, engine, tires or other
upgraded options can result in a different test-driving experience.
Save time by making copies of your driver's license before you go to the
dealer.
If you are trading in your current car, bring along the registration so the
dealer can inspect the car and give you a quote.
Bring a second set of keys, just in case the dealer "misplaces" the first
set as a way of getting you to stay on the lot a bit longer.
Bring a friend who can help test out the back seat.
Repeat this process with the other cars on your list and then go home. Let
each dealer know your time frame for buying a new car, but make sure they
know you aren't looking to buy a car that day. Don't fall for "If you bought
it today....".

CLOSING THE DEAL
Once home, focus on the vehicles you liked best. Consider all the features
that are important to you (fuel economy, trunk size, seat comfort,
reliability rating, etc).
Go online and get a price quote on the cars of greatest interest.
Call other dealers and ask for their best price on the exact vehicle you
want. The price report you purchased earlier will help you determine who is
offering the best price.
Line up the seller over the phone as it will take less time than driving
from dealership to dealership, and will also help you avoid many of the
unpleasant and time-consuming sales tactics.

OTHER TIPS
1. Shop during the last days of the month and the last business hours for
the dealerships.
2. Ask about rebates and incentives before you get a price quote.
3. Even if you are leasing a car, negotiate the price first. A dealer can
make a lease sound less expensive than it is by manipulating the down
payment, monthly payments or the length.
4. Negotiate the purchase of your new car and the trade-in separately.
5. Don't pay for dealer services like underbody rust proofing, fabric
protection or other dubious items.
6. Beware of extra warranties.
7. Maintain control during this process. It is your money. If you don't
like a situation, walk away.

The Distraction of Contempt
"Have mercy on us, O Lord, have mercy on us! For we are exceedingly filled
with contempt" (Psalm 123:3).
What we must beware of is not damage to our belief in God but damage to our
Christian disposition or state of mind. "Take heed to your spirit, that you
do not deal treacherously" (Malachi 2:16). Our state of mind is powerful in
its effects. It can be the enemy that penetrates right into our soul and
distracts our mind from God. There are certain attitudes we should never
dare to indulge. If we do, we will find they have distracted us from faith
in God. It is then that we should go back and renew our faith and fellowship
with Him.
Beware of "the cares of this world . . ." (Mark 4:19). They are the very
things that produce the wrong attitudes in our soul. It is incredible what
enormous power there is in simple things to distract our attention away from
God. Refuse to be swamped by "the cares of this world."
Another thing that distracts us is our passion for vindication. St.
Augustine prayed, "O Lord, deliver me from this lust of always vindicating
myself." Such a need for constant vindication destroys our soul's faith in
God. Don't say, "I must explain myself," or, "I must get people to
understand." Our Lord never explained anything -- He left the
misunderstandings or misconceptions of others to correct themselves.
When we discern that other people are not growing spiritually and allow that
discernment to turn to criticism, we block our fellowship with God. God
never gives us discernment so that we may criticize, but that we may
intercede.

Yielding
". . . you are that one's slaves whom you obey . . ." (Romans 6:16).
The first thing we must be willing to admit when we begin to examine what
controls and dominates us is that we are the one responsible for having
yielded ourselves to whatever it may be. If we are a slave to ourselves, we
are to blame because somewhere in the past we yielded to ourselves.
Likewise, if we obey God we do so because at some point in our life we
yielded ourselves to Him.
If a child gives in to selfishness, he will find it to be the most enslaving
tyranny on earth. There is no power within the human soul itself that is
capable of breaking the bondage of the nature created by yielding. For
example, yield for one second to anything in the nature of lust, and
although you may hate yourself for having yielded, you become enslaved to
that thing. (Remember what lust is -- "I must have it now," whether it is
the lust of the flesh or the lust of the mind.) No release or escape from it
will ever come from any human power, but only through the power of
redemption. You must yield yourself in utter humiliation to the only One who
can break the dominating power in your life, namely, the Lord Jesus Christ.
". . . He has anointed Me . . . to proclaim liberty to the captives . . ."
(Luke 4:18 and Isaiah 61:1).
When you yield to something, you will soon realize the tremendous control it
has over you. Even though you say, "Oh, I can give up that habit whenever I
like," you will know you can't. You will find that the habit absolutely
dominates you because you willingly yielded to it. It is easy to sing, "He
will break every fetter," while at the same time living a life of obvious
slavery to yourself. But yielding to Jesus will break every kind of slavery
in any person's life.

THE LORD'S PROMISE
Good night, my child, I'll look after you,
So you may sleep well, All this night through.
I heard you pray, child, Often today, I was there with you,
Each time you prayed. I kept you from falling.
I calmed your fears, When you were hurting,
I dried your tears. I give you my promise,
As yesterday, I'll be here tomorrow, Just as today.
Virginia A. Ellis

Tell Them...

My friend, I stand in judgment now,
In fear with you to blame somehow.
On earth I walked with you by day,
And never did you show the way.
You knew the Savior in truth and glory,
But never did you tell the story.
My knowledge then was very dim,
You could have led me safe to Him.
Though we lived together here on earth,
You never told me of the second birth.
And now I stand before eternal hell,
Because of Heavens glory you did not tell.

TWELVE "TONGUE TAMERS"
If we memorize these verses and use them to control our tongue, then we will
have victory over the consequences of bad words. Ask the Lord to set a guard
over our tongue so that we only say things that are pleasing to Him.
1. "He that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life; but he that openeth wide his
lips shall have destruction" Proverbs 13:3
2. "Seest thou a man that is hasty in his words? there is more hope of a
fool than of him" Proverbs 29:20
3. "He that answereth a matter before he heareth it, it is folly and shame
unto him" Proverbs 18:13

Here are some very important principles to keep in mind if we want to be
effective in seeing others come to know Christ through our individual
witness.

1. Go to people. The heart of evangelism is Christians taking the initiative
to actually go out and "fish for men." Acts 17:17 describes for us how Paul
was effective in his day and time: "Therefore he reasoned in the synagogue
with the Jesus and with the gentile worshippers, and in the marketplace
daily with those who happened to be there."
2. Communicate with people. Engage them. Sharing the Gospel involves
communication. People must be focused upon and then understand the Gospel to
respond to it. It is our responsibility as Christians to make it as clear as
possible for all who will listen. "Knowing, therefore, the terror of the
Lord, we persuade men" (2 Cor. 5:11).
3. Relate to people. Effective witness involves not only the transmission of
biblical information; it also includes establishing a relationship with the
other person. Hearts, as well as heads, must meet. "So, affectionately
longing for you," said Paul to the Thessalonians, "we were well pleased to
import to you not only the good news of God, but also our own lives, because
you have become dear to us" (1 Thess. 2:8).
4. Remove barriers. Part of our responsibility involves having the skills to
eliminate obstacles, real or imagined, which keep an individual from taking
the Christian message seriously. When God sent the prophet Jeremiah forth,
He said, "Behold, I have put my words in your mouth . . . and I have
ordained you to pluck up and to break down, to destroy and to overthrow, to
build and to plant."
Sometimes our task as well is one of "spiritual demolition," of removing the
false so the seeds of truth can take root.
5. Explain the gospel to others. We need an army of Christians today who can
consistently and clearly present the message to as many people as possible.
Luke says of Lydia, "The Lord opened her heart so that she heeded the things
which were spoken by Paul" (Acts 16:14). Four essential elements in sharing
the gospel:
someone talking (Paul)
things spoken (gospel)
someone listening (Lydia)
the Lord opening the heart.
6. Invite others to receive Christ. We can be clear of presentation, but
ineffective because we fail to give someone the opportunity and
encouragement to take that first major step of faith. "Therefore we are
ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we beg you
in Christ's behalf, be reconciled to God" (2 Cor. 5:20).
7. Make every effort by every means to establish them in the faith. Stay
with them, ground them in the Scripture, help them gain assurance of their
salvation, and get them active in a vital fellowship/church.

Here are just ten of God's exceedingly great and precious promises to His
children:
1 You have passed from death into life. (1 John 3:14)
2 God will supply all of your needs according to His riches. (Philippians
4:19)
3 Jesus will be with you in trials, promising never to leave or forsake you.
(Hebrews 13:5)
4 The Holy Spirit will lead you into all truth, and give you the power to
live a holy life. (Acts 1:8)
5 You are cleansed by the blood of Jesus Christ--God has removed your sins
as far as the east is from the west. (1 John 1:7, Psalm 103:12)
6 As you abide in Christ, you will see the "fruits" of His Spirit begin to
manifest in your life. (Galatians 5:22)
7 As you read the Bible daily, it will come alive to you and cause you to
grow in your faith. (2 Timothy 3:16,17)
8 When you pray, God will hear you and answer your prayers. (Philippians
4:6,7)
9 The cross will be continual evidence of God's love for you. (Hebrews 12:2)
10 God will "keep you from falling, and present you faultless before the
presence of His glory, with exceeding joy." (Jude 24)

10 Little Christians standing in line
1 disliked the preacher, then there were 9

9 little Christians stayed up very late
1 overslept Sunday, then there were 8

8 little Christians on their way to Heaven
1 took the low road and then there were 7

7 little Christians chirping like chicks
1 disliked music, then there were 6

6 little Christians seemed very much alive
but one lost his interest then there was 5

5 little Christians pulling for Heaven's Shore
but one stopped to rest, then there were 4

4 little Christians each busy as a bee
1 got his feelings hurt, then there were 3

3 little Christians knew not what to do
1 joined the sporty crowd, then there were 2

2 little Christians, our rhyme is nearly done

1 little Christian can't do much 'tis true
brought his friend to Bible study -- then there were 2

Try new ways to use tracts!
We believe that handing out tracts is not the only way to use tracts to
spread God's message. We would like to encourage you to use your imagination
when using tracts. The Holy Spirit will do the most important part. Your job
is simply to get the tract in a person's hand so they can read it. Several
people may be used by our Lord to bring a person to Him. Your part may be to
place a tract somewhere that the person will find it and start seeking.
Remember to pray that the Holy Spirit give you the boldness that you will
need and to guide you to the correct place. Then listen to Him! Here are
some ways that you can use to spread God's message:
Bathroom Ministry
Yes put tracts in public restrooms. We can not think of a better place where
you are assured a captive audience. People love to read, especially men, in
restrooms. So take advantage of it and give them some good reading material.
Mail Ministry
Use tracts in business and personal letters, when paying bills (on time),
with greeting cards, and in conjunction with holidays. The person on the
receiving end will know that someone cares for them. They will soon find out
that the person that cares for them is Jesus!
Service Ministry
Give or leave a tract for someone who has performed a service for you. This
could be a sales clerk, a repairman, or a waitress. What better way to leave
a tip than one that can bring salvation! The tract is not meant to replace
the tip but to be additional to it. If you are a frequent customer then it
will give you an opportunity to witness the next time you see the person.
Gas Ministry
Do you own a car and live anywhere in the U.S. except New Jersey? Then you
most likely pump your own gas. This gives you an opportunity to leave a
tract for the next person to use the pump. On some pump handles there is a
advertisement. If the tract is small, you can put it right on the handle of
the nozzle. If you do live in New Jersey then you can give the tract to the
attendant. Try it the next time that you gas up!
Cult Ministry
Walking up to a person that is a member of a cult can be a very difficult
thing to do. We would not suggest that you try this until you have spent a
great deal of time witnessing and the Lord is guiding you in this direction.
You can make a difference without having to go face to face with a cult
member. In most libraries there is a section devoted to gift subscriptions.
These are full of cult magazines. You can put a tract in these magazines.
There are specialized tracts directed to
cults that would be very effective. You can also mail a tract to a local
cult place of worship. Remember that God may be working in the heart of the
cult member that opens the magazine or receives the tract letter.

SCRIPTURE SWORDS FOR PERSONAL BATTLES
If neglected, the battlefields listed below could give way to enemy
strongholds (see Ephesians 4:26-27 and 2 Corinthians 10:3-5). Speak the
truth that fits your battle. That sword will force the enemy to make a
speedy retreat.
ANGER: "Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath.
Neither give place to the devil." Ephesians 4:26-27.
ANXIETY: "Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness, and all
these things shall be added unto you." Matthew 6:33-34.
BITTERNESS: "Love your enemies... pray for them which despitefully use you."
Luke 6:27-28.
BURN-OUT: "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will
give you rest." Matthew 11:28-30.
COMPLAINING: "Do all things without murmuring and disputing, that ye may be
blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a
crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world."

CONFUSION: "Shew me thy ways, O Lord, teach me thy paths... for thou art the
God of my salvation, on thee do I wait all the day." Psalm 25:4-5.
CRITICAL SPIRIT: "Be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one
another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you." Ephesians. 4:32.
DISCONTENTMENT: "For I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to
be content....both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer
need. I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me."
Philippians 4:11-13.
DISCOURAGEMENT: "Fear thou not, for I am with thee; be not dismayed, for I
am thy God; I will strengthen thee, yea, I will help thee, yea, I will
uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness." Isaiah 41:10.
DOUBT: "Lord, I believe; help thou my unbelief." Mark 9:24.
FEAR: "Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou
dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest."
Joshua 1:9.
GOSSIP: "Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and
things wherewith one may edify another." Romans 14:19.
MATERIALISM: "Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and
rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: but lay up for
yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt,
and where thieves do not break through nor steal" Matthew 6:19, 20.
GUILT OR CONVICTION: "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to
forgive us our sins, and to cleanse use from all unrighteousness." I John
1:9.
GUILT FEELINGS (when you have already confessed): "There is therefore now no
condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the
flesh, but after the Spirit." Romans 8:1.
IMPATIENCE: "Thou art my God. My times are in thy hand" Psalm 31:14-15.
FEELINGS OF INADEQUACY: Hear God say: "My grace is sufficient for thee: for
my strength is made perfect in weakness" 2 Corinthians 12:9.
JEALOUSY: "Charity (love of Jesus) suffereth long, and is kind; charity
envieth not..." I Corinthians 13:4.
LAZINESS: "Whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto
men" Colossians 3:23.
LONELINESS: "When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee...
when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned... for I am the
Lord thy God.. since thou wast precious in my sight, thou hast been
honourable, and I have loved thee." Isaiah 43:2-4.
LYING: "Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his
neighbour" Ephesians 4:25.
PRIDE: "And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that
humbleth himself shall be exalted" Matthew 23:12.
RATIONALISING: "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart: and lean not unto
thine own understanding" Proverbs 3:5.
REBELLION: "Father... not my will, but thine, be done." Luke 22:42.
RESENTMENT: "(Charity) seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh
no evil (grudges)" I Corinthians 13:5.
RESTLESSNESS: "Be still, and know that I am God" Psalm 46:10.
SELF-CENTREDNESS: "Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory, but in
lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves." Philippians
2:3.
SELF-PITY: "Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example. Who, when he
was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not: but
committed himself to him that judgeth righteously" 1 Peter 2:21-23.
SELF-RIGHTEOUSNESS: "I am crucified with Christ; nevertheless I live; yet
not I, but Christ liveth in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I
live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me."
Galatians 2:20.
WORRY: "The Lord is my shepherd: I shall not want (lack)" Psalm 23:1.

Footsteps

This is a verse on the front of a card from a card shop.
The series of cards are called Chicken Soup for the Soul.

My three-year-old was on my heels no matter where I went. Whenever I stopped
to do something and turned back around, I would trip over him.
I patiently suggested fun activities to keep him occupied. But he simply
smiled an innocent smile and said, "Oh, that's all right, Mommy. I'd rather
be in here with you." Then he continued to bounce happily along behind me.
After stepping on his toes for the fifth time, I began to lose patience.
When I asked him why he was acting this way, he looked up at me with sweet
green eyes and said, "Well, Mommy, my teacher told me to walk in Jesus'
footsteps. But I can't see Him, so I'm walking in yours."
