A Message from our Director, Dr. E.D. Lawson

I am excited about working with your child! I think we have a wonderful program that is designed to maximize the performance of each student entrusted to our care. We believe that children learn what they live. The staff at Fuller Normal & Industrial Institute will do everything possible to provide a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for learning. Your child is our #1 priority.

"If a Child lives with encouragement, He learns confidence. If a child lives with praise, He learns to appreciate..If a child lives with acceptance and friendship, He learns to find love in the world."

Our program is licensed with the S.C. Department of Social Services. Our DSS license number is 23007.

Classes begin at 8:00 a.m. Monday through Friday and end at 3:00 p.m. We offer an After Care program until 5:00 p.m for an additional charge of $10.00 per week. Late Stay begins at 5:01 p.m. Additional charges are incurred for Late Stay.

Each class follows a daily routine. Students build skills in color/shape recognition, reading, language arts, math, writing, science, social studies, technology (each child at FBII receives a Chrome Notebook for their daily use), and character building. The children also participate weekly in Art, Music, and Physical Education activities. Chapel services are held each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. We use A Beka Book and Learn Every Day curriculums. Please visit our Curriculum page for more information.

Our school fosters a multimedia evirnonment containing a computer laboratory housing 12 fully-functioning computers and three (3) Listening Centers. The "Starfall" software program is installed on the computers and is used to aid students in reading. We are proud to have two (2) Speech Pathologists on staff as part of our Special Ed program.

Classes are small. All of our teachers have college degrees and are certified. We provide students with extra instructional support to help low-achieving children meet state standards in core academic subjects.

We are thrilled about our Learning Enrichment and Achievement Program also known as LEAP. Leap is a special after school program. The program is designed to improve academic achievements and digital literacy for all students. The provided learning opportunities are very "hands on". Professional guests speakers (firemen, policemen, judges, bankers, parent volunteers) meet with the children to expose them to o real-world life experiences.

Fuller Normal & Industrial Institute is a Sugar-Free Campus. We encourage our children to eat nutritional meals at breakfast, lunch, and snack time. The Lunchroom Manager and assistants provide nourishing, well-balanced lunches for students and staff. The lunchroom setting provides many opportunities to learn and practice social skills as well as good manners.
