Questions and Answers

My father once gave me some good advice when I was in the 7th grade. It has served me well for over 40 years:

"If you don't understand, ask questions. Keep asking questions until you do understand."

This part of Secretary Essentials will change to cover specific information of interest to you. We encourage you to submit your question(s) below. There is no such thing as a "stupid question".

Do you count the pastor as a member?

No. Do not include your pastor as a member of your church. He/She is not a member. Do not count the pastor's spouse or children as members unless and until they actually join your church.
Do not count your pastor as an Ordained Minister in your church either.

Are we supposed to select a treasurer for each auxiliary in the church? If so, can our bank be selected as the treasurer?

I believe the answer to the 1st question is yes. I personally would never select the bank as a treasurer. I believe that someone should be responsible for verifying that what the secretary says should be in the bank is actually what was put in the bank - sort of like a check and balance. I will check with Elder Poellnitz and update my response based on his input.
